2 meetups at the Villa Good Tech

Here's a look back at 2 Tech Meetups hosted by 2 of our Tech Leaders from the SOFTWARE team earlier this week at the Villa...

Evangelising about the state of the art, the range of possibilities offered by the new standards coming out of the world of Open Source, is indeed our primary vocation and the journey proposed on this Monday evening at LINAGORA's headquarters.

The audience will be a group of insiders who are keenly aware of the issues of technological independence, digital autonomy and sovereignty, and who are already putting these issues into practice, or will be doing so in the near future, in their companies and large government departments.

These are the same new standards that you will quickly find in the commercial versions of the Chinese and American giants, BUT with the added bonus of total alienation in terms of control over your strategic, personal and confidential data!

As with everything, it's a choice you have to MAKE, and the sooner the better...

How can we reduce the mail's carbon footprint by 60%?

Twake Mail: Sovereign and ecological mail in the age of the cloud and AI, reinvented by LINAGORA

Twake Mail is built on the Apache Foundation's James mail server, which is the reference implementation of the JMAP protocol. It was the IETF (one of the Internet's standardisation bodies along with the W3C) that decided to define this new Web standard in order to take advantage of the power of the cloud and AI in the area of messaging. LINAGORA has been involved in this specification from the outset, writing some of its standards (RFCs).

How is the Matrix protocol and technology changing the face of business chat?

The Matrix protocol is a distributed alternative to the WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal platforms. Like these platforms, it offers the security features expected of an instant messaging system, but its "distributed" aspect means that, like email, it can have separate identities for each organisation.

Until now, this combination of distributed and secure technology has not made it possible to provide applications that are as easy to use as the GAFAM platforms. The "Twake-Workplace" initiative aims to reconcile these paradigms by offering addons to the Matrix standard and a "progressive security" implementation that enables users to easily get started with this platform, find their friends in a particularly secure context, and to top it all off, also connect to their Signal, Telegram and WhatsApp accounts!
