JMAP protocol is an Open Source creation of the Apache Software Foundation, which is the largest free software foundation in the world with over 350 projects, 8000 volunteers, and 227 million lines of code.
Since 1999, the foundation has enabled the emergence of many infrastructure projects such as Hadoop, Cassandra,Kafka and more. The mail server, developed since 2003 as part of the foundation, aims to offer a scalable, modular, and adaptable mail server that implements JMAP.

Our teams lead standardization efforts through proofreading and writing RFCs, participating in IETF events, adopting JMAP in our software since 2016 and contributing to the Apache James reference implementation.
