 Ouest-France interview with Alexandre Alexandre ZAPOLSKY

LUCIE, the 100% open source LLM developed with the OpenLLM France community and based on transparent data, has sparked a lively debate in recent days. Between criticism and enthusiasm, one thing is certain: French AI is being built, with its challenges and ambitions!

In an interview with Ouest France, our Chairman, Alexandre Zapolsky, talks about the launch of LUCIE :

  • If we don't have a French-style AI, we run the risk of losing our cultural and civilisational sovereignty [...] ;

  • Our AI hadn't finished its training. There is, in fact, something extremely important, and that is to teach the model to interact with human beings. Last weekend, when we put the Lucie-chat platform online, it was precisely so that our community could help us collect questions and answers, during a one-month test phase;

  • ‘The new generations are using search tools like Google less and less and consuming digital information directly through artificial intelligence. So there are huge expectations;

We would like to thank all those who are supporting us and taking an active part in this collective project. French Tech needs this mobilisation to continue to innovate and offer sovereign alternatives.
