Digital Sovereignty Exhibition: a first day dominated by the theme of sovereign AI

The Digital Sovereignty Expo opened its doors, and this first day confirmed one thing: digital sovereignty is no longer a mere concept. It is becoming a reality driven by tools, practices, and organisations that choose to retake control of their data.

At our B08 booth, demonstrations of Twake.ai and open‑buro.eu ran continuously throughout the day. Sovereign collaboration, generative AI, interoperability, open source, and data mastery: all topics that sparked numerous exchanges with visitors.

One of the highlights of this opening day was the workshop led by our Chief Executive Officer, Michel‑Marie MAUDET, at Agora 2: “Reinventing Sovereign Collaboration in the Age of AI.

During the hour, the discussion focused on a question that every organisation is asking today:
how to leverage artificial intelligence without relinquishing control of its data?

As Michel‑Marie MAUDET reminded us:

« There is a desire among companies and organisations to better control their budgets. And also, frankly, I think there is a growing awareness.»

Entrusting one’s data to platforms that are not under one’s control carries a cost, economic, strategic, and technological. At LINAGORA, we have been defending this vision for years through our commitment to open source, and we are pleased to see more and more organisations now sharing this observation.

But this awareness is only the first step. The real challenge is to change habits.

When you have been using the same tools for decades, both at work and in personal life, the transition to new solutions can seem daunting. That is precisely why we created Twake.ai and open‑buro.eu.

As our CEO explained:

« We tried to work on a unified approach. One of the criticisms we had of open‑source solutions was that they often consisted of aggregated silos with different ergonomics.»

Our ambition was never to offer yet another alternative. We wanted to create a coherent experience that can concretely support organisations in their digital transformation, with tools that are easy to adopt, seamless integration, and a methodology that fits.

This approach is already bearing fruit. Today, the entire Mauritian government uses our collaborative suite, demonstrating that performance, sovereignty, and ease of use can coexist.

Because we want to make these technologies accessible to as many people as possible, Twake.ai is available both to organisations and to individual users, in SaaS or self‑hosted mode, so anyone can choose the level of control that matches their needs.

We will still be present tomorrow at booth B08.

If you wish to discover Twake.ai, open‑buro.eu, attend a demonstration, or simply chat with the teams that develop these solutions every day, come meet us. Beyond the speeches, nothing beats a live demo to see what truly sovereign, AI‑enhanced, open collaboration looks like.
