LUCIE, the 100% Open Source LLM developed with the OpenLLM France community and based on transparent data, has sparked a lively debate in recent days. Between criticism and enthusiasm, one thing is certain: French AI is being built, with its own challenges and ambitions!

In an interview with Maddyness, our Chairman, Alexandre Zapolsky, talks about the launch of LUCIE :

• ‘We invent by iteration in IT, it's never a straight line invention, so it's part of the open source process to open up, test and ask people to validate;
   
• ‘LUCIE is truly open source: there are no restrictions on use, including from a commercial point of view. We share our training recipe, the famous ‘secret sauce’ and, last but not least, we provide the training data set. Lucie is the only AI that meets all three criteria at this stage‘;
   

• ‘We will continue to rely on the community to generate the training data needed to train Lucie...’
