VivaTech J2 - Thursday, 18 June: Alexandre Zapolsky launches the call for Digital Sovereignty
VivaTech is still in full swing today. The Digital Sovereignty Village has been welcoming a steady stream of visitors eager to meet the companies developing French and European alternatives.
Among the highlights of this second day, we had the pleasure of hosting Patrick Pouyanné of Total Energies.
The meeting provided an opportunity to present twake.ai, our collaborative and sovereign platform that incorporates the latest advances in artificial intelligence. This demonstration sparked a discussion on the strategic issues surrounding the adoption of European AI tools, capable of meeting the performance, security, and data‑control requirements of large enterprises.
At 11 a.m., on the OVHcloud stage, our president and founder issued a call, a call to all those who refuse to accept technological dependence as inevitable.
Together with Clever Cloud and DEEP, Alexandre Zapolsky reiterated a reality we observe every day: alternatives exist.
The question is how we collectively create the conditions for their adoption.
« Since their inception, tech giants have tried to silo the Internet and ensure that once they have a user, that user cannot escape their solution. »
« We need norms and standards in our industry.»
Because no single company can build European digital sovereignty alone:
« Airbus is a success because each country participates in the value chain and benefits from it. European digital sovereignty must follow the same logic.»
It is in this spirit that the French Digital Forces were launched today, a initiative aimed at gathering those who want to move from rhetoric to action and build a trustworthy, open, and European digital ecosystem.
The manifesto is now open for signatures.
After years of debate, it is time to build.
