Free, Transparent and Sovereign AI: the turning point at Capitole du Libre 2025

Free, Transparent and Sovereign AI: the turning point at Capitole du Libre 2025

Come meet us at the Capitole du Libre on November 15‑16 2025 in Toulouse.

Julie Hunter and Benjamin Bellamy will speak on the topic:
“What if AI were no longer an uncontrollable black box?”

November 15 2025
15:00‑15:55
A203 at INP‑N7 Toulouse

Through this session you will discover:
What a truly open source language model is, from the datasets to the model weights, with no “secret sauce”
How these models can become digital commons, shared and auditable, serving everyone
How public resources, such as the Jean Zay super‑computer of GENCI, enable the building of a sovereign, transparent AI that respects GDPR and the AI Act.

We will continue with a presentation of RAG (Retrieval‑Augmented Generation), an architecture that is emerging as a responsible alternative to oversized models:

  • How a RAG combines document retrieval and controlled generation.
  • Why this approach reduces hallucinations and ensures answer transparency.
  • How it guarantees better data control (GDPR compliance and security).
  • Why it enables a leaner AI, accessible even without massive infrastructures.
